Basic conversation questions

the way I would teach a basic conversation is to right a common word in english then translate it right next to the english word in spanish like shown below

Yes= si

Why= por que

when is= Cuando es

help me=audamen

Then I would make my students study the words over night and make them say them in spanish teh next day

Origins/Name

Origins, are basically where you are from. Simply, where you are from, where you live, your name, and I'm going to add age in the category.

de dónde eres-where are you from?
¿dónde vive-where do you live?
cual es tu nombre?- whats your name?
me nombre/me amo-my name is...
¿Cuál es tu número de teléfono-whast your telephone number?
Ex: Me amo octavius, soy de filadelphia, vivo Norristown , numero telefono-267-345-6789.
 

Learning Months

Understanding months isn't very complicated. In here i will first explain what months are .
Obviously the English months began with January end with December. I'm going to write the month out and English. Then translate to Spanish.
January-Enero
February-Febrero
March-Marzo
April-Abril
May-Maya
June-Junio
July-Julio
August-Augusto
September-Septembre
October-Octubre
November-Noviembre
December-Decimbre
Ex. fecha de hoy es trienta de octubre dos mill diez . - Today is october 30th, 2010.

Telling time

The way I would teach time in Spanish is to show my students an example of the clock in English and show them the same clock only in Spanish then I would make them solve the rest of the problem with the information of Spanish numbers that they know. I also would use hints of what stay the same and what changes.

Example

1:00= es la una

1:10pm= Es la una de la tarde

1:10am= Es la una y diez de la mañana

2-12= son las dos-doce

see I leave a hint to leave the"es la"(only use this for one) by bolding it and I also bold "de la""son las"(use for 2-12) and "y ___ de la". I would also put pictures and explain more that once.

This Blog is explaining how to use polite phrases from English to Spanish. I will use English polite phrases such as
Excuse me
Thank you
How are you
Good morning
Good afternoon
Good night
And translate them to Spanish.
Excuse me-Perdon
Thank you-Gracias
How are you- ?Como estas? / ?Como esta?
Good morning-?Buenos dias?
Good afternoon-Buenas tardes
Good night-Buenas noches
Examples: I drop my wallet and someone picks it up for me, and returns it. In in English i would say thank you. In Spanish I would say Gracias.

Greetings

The way I would teach Greetings and goodbye's from English to Spanish is to put the English version of the word on the left side and the one en espanol (in Spanish) on the right like as seen below you and then make the student make a dialogue of it

Hello	Hola
Good bye	adios
See you later	Hasta luego

Mary: hola

Tom: hola

Mary: hasta luego

Tom: adios

Mary: adios
